supports Butler School of Music students studying guitar, songwriting, and/or jazz
Established through a gift from Chuckii Booker, the Chuckii Booker Scholarship supports one University of Texas at Austin Butler School of Music student every other year studying guitar, songwriting, and/or jazz through a $5,000 scholarship.
Chuckii Booker is a singer/songwriter and producer. In the late-1980’s, Booker emerged as a prominent urban contemporary R&B artist, releasing such hit singles as including “(Don’t U Know) I Love U,” “Turned Away,” and “Games.” As a producer, Booker has produced for such artists as Barry White, Diana Ross, Lionel Richie, Lalah Hathaway, and Bette Midler.
